Slack Agent+ for Jira

Connect Slack to Jira through an AI-powered Rovo agent. Ask questions about Slack channels, messages, threads, users, files, and team discussions, then view related Jira issue context using natural language.

Setup

  1. In Jira, go to Apps in the sidebar and click Slack Agent+

  2. Click Connect Slack Account

  3. Authorize the app in the Slack popup

  4. Your Slack workspace connection will appear when connected

What You Can Do

Slack

  • Find Slack messages related to a Jira ticket or project

  • Search channels and conversations visible to your connected account

  • View message threads and discussion context

  • Inspect basic channel, user, and file metadata

Jira

  • Search issues with JQL

  • View issue details, comments, remote links, and transitions

  • Check projects, priorities, changelogs, and watchers

  • Find issues assigned to you or recently updated

Requirements

  • Jira Cloud with Rovo enabled

  • Slack account with access to the relevant workspace and channels

  • Slack workspace approval may be required depending on your workspace app settings

Data & Privacy

  • Read-only - the app never modifies your Slack or Jira data

  • OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in Atlassian Forge secure storage

  • You can disconnect at any time from the app settings page

  • The app only reads Slack content visible to the connected account

  • Contact details and sensitive personal fields are redacted where possible

  • No data is sent to third-party servers

Troubleshooting

"Not connected" error in Rovo chat
Open the Slack Agent+ settings page and connect your Slack account.

Slack says the app needs approval
Ask a Slack workspace admin to approve the app, then try connecting again.

OAuth popup does not close after authorizing
Try disabling popup blockers for your Jira site and reconnect.

Agent does not respond or times out
Refresh the page and try again. If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect your Slack account.
