AI Blocks+ for Confluence/Jira

Turn rough notes into a clear, structured information block on a Confluence page or Jira dashboard.

AI Blocks+ creates a title, short summary, and a set of headed points. You review the complete result before saving it, and saved blocks display without making another AI request.

Where you can use AI Blocks+

AI Blocks+ is available in two Atlassian apps:

  • Confluence: insert an AI Block macro on a page.

  • Jira: add an AI Block gadget to a dashboard.

Both apps use the same generation and validation rules, adapted to the native editing experience of each product.

Getting started in Confluence

  1. Edit a Confluence page.

  2. Insert the AI Block macro.

  3. Enter your notes, decisions, or key points under Rough notes.

  4. Select Generate.

  5. Review the generated information block.

  6. Select Insert block.

  7. Publish the page.

The published page displays the reviewed block without making another AI request.

Getting started in Jira

  1. Open a Jira dashboard that you can edit.

  2. Select Add gadget.

  3. Find and add the AI Block gadget.

  4. Enter your notes, decisions, or key points under Rough notes.

  5. Select Generate.

  6. Review the generated information block.

  7. Select Save block.

The dashboard displays the reviewed block without making another AI request.

What AI Blocks+ creates

Each generated block contains:

  • A title

  • A short summary

  • Between two and six headed points

AI Blocks+ creates static text only. It does not generate interactive applications, executable code, HTML, links, images, or diagrams.

The AI is instructed to use only the information in the rough notes you provide and not add unsupported facts.

Editing a saved block

Confluence

  1. Edit the Confluence page.

  2. Open the AI Block macro configuration.

  3. Update the Rough notes.

  4. Select Regenerate.

  5. Review the new result.

  6. Select Update block.

  7. Publish the page.

Jira

  1. Open the gadget menu.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Update the Rough notes.

  4. Select Regenerate.

  5. Review the new result.

  6. Select Update block.

Regenerating creates a new preview. Your saved block is not replaced until you select Update block.

Usage limit

Each product installation includes 20 generation attempts per UTC day.

The Confluence and Jira apps enforce their limits independently.

An attempt counts once the request reaches the AI service, even if generation fails or the result is not saved.

Existing blocks remain visible after the daily generation limit is reached. The limit resets at the beginning of the next UTC day.

Data and privacy

When you generate a block

  • Your rough notes are sent to Claude through Atlassian Forge LLMs.

  • AI Blocks+ does not read the surrounding Confluence page.

  • AI Blocks+ does not read Jira issues, projects, filters, or surrounding dashboard data.

  • Exactly one constrained generation request is made for each block.

When you save a block

  • Confluence stores the notes and generated block in the native macro configuration.

  • Jira stores the notes and generated block in the native dashboard gadget configuration.

  • Saved blocks display the stored text without making another AI request.

Forge app storage contains only short-lived reservation keys used to enforce the daily limit.

AI Blocks+ does not store account IDs, prompts, generated content, or token usage in app storage.

AI Blocks+ declares no analytics, remotes, external network permissions, or Jira data scopes.

Troubleshooting

Generate is unavailable

Make sure you are signed in and editing the macro or gadget configuration.

Generation is not available from a published Confluence page or a saved Jira gadget view.

The daily limit has been reached

Saved blocks continue to work normally. Wait until the next UTC day before generating another result.

A block could not be generated

Make sure Rough notes contains between 1 and 2,500 characters.

If the notes are valid, try again later or revise them to make the intended structure clearer.

The Jira gadget asks to be configured after saving

Open the gadget menu, select Edit, and confirm that the generated preview appears before selecting Save block or Update block.
